Jute sector of the then East Pakistan marked a booming growth in early 1960s as it provided with an excellent opportunity to make the best use of barren lands and earn precious foreign exchange besides generating large employments. Our founder, late Mr. Ahmed Ali Sarder, first joined the Aga Khan Group as a founder Director of Jessore Jute Industries Ltd. He then unfolded the necessity of urbanizing Nowapara area at Jessore for the betterment of his fellow political workers.
Late Mr. Ahmed Ali Sarder, was a Member of the Pakistan National Assembly
(1962-1969) and was honoured with the highest civilian award "Tamkaye-Quaide-Azam"
(TQA) by the government of Pakistan. He also founded many schools, colleges and charitable institutions at Jessore. Business world of Mr. Sarder, rooted from the British-India in 1930, comprised of construction of civil and military installations, roads and bridges, manufacturing of building and construction materials, jute, timber and plastic, banking and shipping. |
